Jordan Tivers, LCSW, CGP

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP). With over a decade of experience as an Individual and Group Psychotherapist, my work is informed by Relational, Existential, and Psychodynamic psychological theories. My pronouns are he/him/his.

I am an in-network provider for Illinois Blue Cross & Blue Shield PPO plans.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa and a Master’s of Social Work from Tulane University. Shortly after graduating from Tulane University, I moved to Austin, TX, where I received extensive training in modern approaches to individual and group psychotherapy. I moved back to Chicago, IL, in 2015 and am proud to call it home.

Mentoring early-stage clinicians and active involvement in professional organizations are my passions. I remain deeply committed to my own personal and professional development, regularly receiving consultation and trainings from seasoned clinicians.

Consulting

Alongside my clinical practice, I specialize in consulting with high-potential employees at rapidly growing companies, helping them elevate their management and leadership skills. With an emphasis on enhancing their understanding of group dynamics, emotional intelligence, and executive presence, I empower individuals to excel in high-stakes environments.

I also provide consulting services for co-founders across diverse sectors including startups, non-profits, and consultancies. My focus is on understanding and resolving the unique challenges inherent in co-founder relationships, fostering effective communication, aligning visions, and optimizing collaborative efforts for sustainable growth.

Personal Life

I am a lifelong learner and cherish my relationships and value personal growth. I love all things NBA – a passion that's often the centerpiece of my engaging conversations with close friends. I meditate daily and have benefited immensely from engaging in a well-rounded mindfulness practice.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, live concerts, or savoring the culinary delights of Chicago's diverse restaurant scene with my family.

I firmly believe in the adage that we become the average of the five people we spend the most time with. I intentionally surround myself with individuals who are not only curious and engaging but also deeply self-aware and playful.
